TYM T330 w/ lt300 loader
I was doing some rough cutting today. Real rough! When I realized the my rear hydralics only lifted an inch or so. I disconnected my side links and it seemed to work full length. I am thinking it just cannot lift the weight anymore. My fluid is a little low. When I pulled the dipstick I notice it had been rubbing at the end by something in the tranny. I try to pull my hydralic fluid cap off and broke it. Now I have some pieces of it down in my fluid. I think I am going to totally drain. Never have done it before, and I am sure it is due. Does anyone know of a filter somewhere that could have clogged? Or maybe an orifice or something. What should I do about the filler cap. It is absolutely seize on. Any help would be nice.

If my guess is correct, the hydraulic level will affect the performance of the lift. Basically, it is running out of fluid before it can travel anymore?
If you broke the hard plastic cap, and parts went into the tranmission, your going to have fun getting them out. Start with a long pair of hemostats and a good flashlight. Get all you can before draining the oil. After draining, look again for more you can find. I would consider putting the pieces back together again, maybe like a favorite cup with superglue, so you will know when you get all the pieces. Since that housing is the reservoir for the hydraulic pump, get all you can so it doesn't get sucked into the pump.
I hope there is a filter or screen, but I never changed mine. (only had it 20 years)

I did some really nasty land clearing with mine from time to time. It really surprised me, and several other people as to just how mean those 13 horses really are when chased around by a 48" bush hog.

Just out of curiosity, can you tell me the tire sizes on your 1100?
We are experiencing some difficulites in finding the original rear tire, and went ahead an purchased a set of replacement tires, which ended up being almost 2" taller in size.
(By me, I mean myself, and sandman4901 who bought the 1100 from me.)

Mine has 8.00-16 turf tires, which the manual lists as optional. The other choice according to the manual was 7.50-16 ag tires.

When I get new tires, I'm gonna go with 8.00-16 ag tires I believe...

8.00-16 seem to be rather scarce. I tried a couple of places, all told me that size had been discontinued. I was told the 9.50-16 was the replacement, so I located a used set, with rims and purchased them for the new owner of my little tractor. When I got them back home, I realized that they were not an exact replacement, that they are almost 2 inches taller than the old ones. That is with the old ones mounted, replacement ones not mounted on the tractor, so the weight of the tractor sitting on the tires has some bearing.
The original tires still hold air, despite their looks, so he is at least able to play with it. If he looses a tire, and has to put the replacements on, I have advised him not to run the tractor in four wheel drive. He is aware of the consequences, having owned 4wd vehicles all his life.
How are you doing with your fishing expedition, trying to remove the particles from the transmission?
Thanks for the tire info. I am assuming your tractor is 2wd, since you only posted the rear tires. I was kind of wanting to both to compare the ratio of front to rear, but it is a mute point if yours is 2wd.

Yep, mine's only 2wd, sure wish it was 4wd!!

Firestone still lists the 8.00-16 ag tire in either 4 ply or 6 ply on their web site. It's a G-1 pattern, dunno how that compares to R1 or some of the other pattern designations. They also still list the 8.00-16 turf tire. (Eventually I'll inquire at work, but I primarily work in the passenger/truck tire division and not as much in the ag tire division.)

I pulled a 5' box blade around (homemade) and could fill it about 3/4 way full in two wheel drive. Reach down and pull the front wheel drive into gear and it would pile it to overflowing. (Talking about spreading dirt delivered by a dumptruck). I really, really, really miss that four wheel drive, but the difference in horsepower with my newer tractor kind of made the little Ford a monument out in the back. Hated to see it go to waste, so I sold it to a good friend, who has since registered as one of the other sandman's.

Sorry...I have not return a message. I tried to pick out the plastic filler cap leftovers from the sump with not much success. I decided the Hydraulic filter should catch it all. I drained the fluid, yuk! It could have been original fluid. I talked my sweet wife into getting 5 gallons of fluid at our TSC while she was at the store. What a great woman! That is another story!

Anyway...my filter was clogged. Some of that plastic made it to the filter that quickly. I do not believe the plastic will interfere with anything else. I need to order anther one. Hydraulics work great now. Thanks for your help.

I think I'd try to flush the sump out. i know you have already added oil.. but if you ever drain it again (cough).. try flushing with kero..

The fact the cap was dry and brittle shows just how often it was un-sued.. etc..
