MY YM336D has always had slow hydraulics when it is below freezing.
I always use J20C hy-tran oil, but in the winter it takes a long time to warm up before the hydraulics lift the loader normally.
Last Fall I cleaned the hyd. screen, which had virtually nothing in it. I changed the cartridge filter with a new Baldwin B-2.
And refilled with J20C hy-tran.
But the hyds were still slow all winter until it gets really warmed up.
I am wondering if anyone out there has used a synthetic hy-tran fluid like Triax UTTO? Or automatic trans fluid (ATF)?
What are your thoughts?

Tractor Ernie said he filled his Japan-import Yanmars with ATF, and preferred that. Maybe he'll comment.

I've always wondered if the PowerShift transmission shares internal parts and even circuits, with a Datsun (or something) A/T.

Not knowing your location nor climate, if you are experiencing J20C being slower, then J20D low viscosity works.

In other regions where J20C is hard to locate, people with Yanmars will use the Kubota UDT

As for the Baldwin B-2, what is the micron rating and flow-rate? If its too restrictive, then it will take time for a warm up of the fluid to properly work.

Yes, I have heard of using ATF. When U-Haul was renting out Yanmar tractors, they always used ATF in the trannys.
It gets really cold here in the Pocono mtns. of NE PA. It takes 45 minutes to warm up the J20C.

Are you using just the Org Hyd. pump itself. I'm not showing The 336 but I am for the 330 HP-9A the YM3000 uses it also. The cold temps could be the problem. My ym2000 HP-5A so it's smaller. They upgraded the YM240 with the 9A! That was interesting. I run 2 pumps on my 63 ford 48Eng. with a front Hyd. pump. Adapter added Eng. crank shaft pully. It's not hard to setup. No problem with the Rear PTO. lift mentioned just the FEL. Cold weather with ATF. would be my first try at the cold weather.
