I don't have one nor do I sell them. But I asked around a bit and the consensus is that they are a good consumer unit and seem to be priced right.

Tom, What size is the lowes unit hp? and width of cut? Generally the chain retailers don't sell the big equipment , If you want the more commercial size 60-72" that seems to be more difficult to find! But husqvarnas website does show the larger commercial stuff ,which I'm sure is more durable as well as more costly... Everyone I talk to about the harry home-owner ztr's say they aren't very good ,speed wise and dependability wise, I guess you get what you pay for? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
But I do wonder if the lowe's good order the larger units? I'll have to look into that.

It was a 38" deck wiyh a 15 hp briggs (according to my brother anyway). They wanted $2495..........It was a demo with 2.9 hours on it...........Seems like enough $$ for a consumer grade machine to me...........Tom

Ouch that seems a bit high to me,granted it will help cut down mowing time but only 38",For that money you can get 50"-52" deck on a riding mower that would probably mow in approximately same time, and take up more space in the garage or shed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We were at a Lowes Store in Vancouver WA yesterday. They had a 15 hp ZTR Husky. It had a Kohler engine in it. This was a returned unit. The salesman said that he had sold it 3 times but people backed out. He rated it as light commericial. No seat belts or safety switches on this model. The man said it was very slow on slopes due to lower HP.
Who knows for sure? I am just passing on what the guy said. Also has no hour meter. Don't know how you could tell exactly how many hours were on one.
I liked the design of it.

How large of an area is your brother mowing? Be sure that it is big enough for his needs. A good deal isn't a good deal if he is unhappy with the performance or it won't do what he wants it to do.
You can get a nice 42" ZTR with an 18.5 hp for $2999.00. Good luck with you decision!
