I am having the same problem with my 235R. I have changed the spark plug, the fuel filter, and checked all the wiring. I checked and cleaned the contacts on the off-on switch but the switch itself is sealed and I have not tried replacing it. I cleaned the spark screen on the muffler even though there was no carbon build up. All of these very viable ideas came from another member of this forum who was most helpful. I have not tried a new ignition module (looks like a regular coil: set with a gap between contacts and fly wheel magnets). I did try regapping it at different settings but spark is still very weak but slightly stronger using a dollar bill as the gap setting (an old lawn mower trick from my youth). It will crank sometimes but will not accelerate: just dies when I push the throttle, it sounds like the plug is fouling or flooding out. When it does not crank after it dies, I remove the plug and blow it out and replace it. Then it will crank again only to die at acceleration. I tried high octane gas with the same amount of 2 cycle oil (that I have used for 8 years) but no difference.
You said you replaced the ignition module with a new one but spark did not get stronger? That was going to be my next step. Did you notice any change at all with the spark?
I know this is not helping you solve your problem but I am about to give up and take mine to the local Husqvarna dealer/mechanic who is good but expensive. I guess I'm hoping for one more idea that I have not tried.
