Saw my last hummer for the season this morning

This is normally the day they have all left this area it seems

They been showing up here on the texas coast for the last month or so.. before heading to mexico in Oct.. My wife feeds them,, she should be in the kitchen fixing me something sweet.. lol.. I bet I hear about this.. Lou

I saw my first Welcome Swallow last week so 'Spring is in the air' down here!

Mind you, a pair of Masked Lapwings have decided to ground-nest in Paddock #4, so that paddock will have to be skipped in the rotation until the chicks are born.

The seasons roll on...

We still had 3 or 4 hanging around the feeders today. They will probably all be gone in the next few days.

The last of our hummingbirds departed around four weeks ago. They arrived early and left early this year. I wonder if this is some sort of indicator for the coming winter weather ?

There were a single pair here until about a week ago. Otherwise, they have all left for Texas and ports further south.

In the last 2 weeks we've gone from 4 feeders and almost a gallon of fluid a day with about 18 birds to 5 birds then 4 then 3. Now we're down to 1 bird. Is it a traveler or late starting local? I'll keep a feeder or two up for another week and see what happens. I'll pull them down if theirs no activity.

Still have 4 hangout in Middle Tn but lost a few this week.

Noticed a couple of more today at the feeders and flowers. Must be the ones from up north starting south. I should have them here for a couple more weeks.
