I ran into a number of posts on other sites that told of a problem a number of people were having when backing up under load with the FEL loaded using the HST. Description was a jerking when reversing.

Anyone run into that?

Also, when I was testing a 3130 with HST, I had a hard time getting the range selector from M into L.....selector didn't budge until I slightly depressed HST pedal. Anyone experience this?

I'm getting ready to order an L series and have "decided" on getting the HST.

Thanks...... K from AL

K from AL,
I have an L3430HST and I'm not having any problems with the FEL loaded and backing up. Also it is common to have to work the HST tredle a bit in order to move the gear selector.
You won't regret getting the hydro. It's the best tranny setup especially when using a FEL.

Welcome to Tractorbynet. I never had any jerky sensation from the HST on either of the B series Kubotas I had. But those are square cut gears going into the different ranges. The lever will slip easily into a range if they happen to be lined up just right. If not, then a very slight pressure on the HST pedal will turn them enough to get them lined up.

It is normal on the range selector to have to bump the hst pedal in one direction or another to select ranges, a little tractor movement helps.

I agree with the above posts. No jerking in reverse and shifting range is easy after slight pedal depression.
The HST is great for loader work.
Last Sat I spent 6.5 tractor hours digging out a bank for a friend. This bank was a heavy clay and wet (with springs). We had a wet Jan. and the hill side slid down onto his house and shops. What a mess. Anyway, a number of loads were maxed out so the bucket wouldn't lift higher than where it was when laoded (nasty sticky wet clay). The HST ran smoothly all day long.
I hope my recent experience helps with your concerns.

Anyone run into that? Never

Anyone experience this? All the time. It's normal

I'm getting ready to order an L series and have "decided" on getting the HST. Smartest thing you might do all day. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
