hr meter - is crazy

ok i was wondering how my hours were rising so rapidly - cut my grass maybe 6x total at about an hr or an hr and a half each. i am up to 76 hrs. i noticed today that the hour changes by 1 hr every 7 minutes or so - anyone ever hear of such a thing. probably won't worry about it since the dealer is a jerk but just unable to tell about the oil change - may just have to change 1x a year and call it good enough.

i am totally unhappy with this machine and the issues for a brand new mower. for what it is worth...

Last digit is 1/10 of an hour... which is 6 minutes. No offence intended, is it possible you mistook that for hours?

hmmm - i thought so too. but my ld tractors had the tenth in another color as opposed to the whole #'s. also i did not see anything to make it look like a tenth. I will check again tomorrow. thankyou. and NO i am not crazy. i even wear glasses so i can't be that blind but what the hey.....

also trans went and engines pops and the dealer fixed the trans under warranty but hassled me re: $ for checking into the engine popping. esp on a slight incline or decline - go figure. may have to still deal with that problem.... but last time got caught for pickup and delivery and told him to check that while he had it in but he didn't.... then he argued with me and told me i sia dnot to and i said TO DO. so i am not pleased with his B.S.

Wow - hate to hear all the problems. Hopefully just misread the gauge. If you are not sure post a photo and we can double check it. Hope you get everything worked out and corrected!!!

Thanks - i will go out and check in a few minutes. since they are all one color i probably did misread it. stupid me. my other garden tractors all had different color numbers and background than the whole numbers had. it was obvious.

I suspect that if you look really close that you will see a tiny dot between the last two digits. It may not be readily visible at a glance but it will be there. My lawnmower hour meter is the same way, just a tiny dot before the last digit.

Not sure which model you have, but mine has hours and tenths on the meter, separated by a small dot for the tenth's scale.

That sounds like the worst dealer I've ever heard of! I don't know what you can do about him, but I bet he's not on your Christmas Card List.
