Having issues with rear 3 pt not lifting with load on it at idle, works fine when engine rpm is above 1800 rpms. 2003 TC45D w/FEL The FEL works fine so I decided to tear into the HPL valve thinking that the o-rings behind it may be leaking. that was not the issue. but got a couple questions, should the bypass spool fall out of the control valve spool? or is it staked? also accidently bumped the parts tray and got the unload valve spring and the check valve spring mixed. Does anyone now which one uses the heavier spring. Still not sure what the issue is? checked pressure at rear remote 2450 psi. Anyone else every have this issue?

Wow! You tore into your HPL valve when it worked fine at 1800 rpm.:confused2: Did it not lift at all below 1800? Did you try moving the remote lever(s) to be sure one of them was not returning completely to neutral? If you have a load on the 3PH and lower the engine rpm, does the lift go down?

Anyhow, do you have a Repair Manual or are you "winging" it? You might be able to tell what is the arrangement of parts by using the illustrated parts diagrams in the parts section of Messicks.com. Also, if you don't have the Repair Manual, I'll look to see if I can find some info, but I think you are in very dangerous territory to work without it.

Thanks Jinman, It would not lift anything over 300 lbs at lower rpms, it holds fine at idle once lifted. I first tore apart rear remote spool and verified it was not leaking there. then after looking thru the manual i figured it was possibly one of the o-rings on the hpl valve, but that was not the case. So i dug a little deeper and may have found problem? the relief system in the center of hpl spool was stuck. got it free and planning on putting it back together tonight and try it. I do have a manual

That's great news that you have the manual and use it to adjust the measured settings. Good luck! I hope that stuck valve was the problem and it all goes smoothly on reassembly.:)

Well put it back to gather and it works the way it should lifts the tiller no problem at idle, basically to fix I took spool and tapped it on a chunk of wood to get stuck valve out. I then took some 600 sandpaper and rolled it up and stuck it down bore of spool and spun it lightly and then sprayed it out with brake cleaner and reassemblied until the valve operated freely. glad it was that simply to fix :D
