Anybody on here use a Howse brand brush cutter? At the end of December I bought a 2620, didn't get any attachments, due to a friend of mine up sizing his JD2320 to a larger tractor. I was going to buy his 4ft cutter, anyway due to some possible changes at work he is sitting tight on his 2320 now. I still can use his impliments, its just 45 min one way over there. Looking for thoughs on Howse brand cutters or any opinions on any brush cutters... Thanks

BTW - Mostly cutting field, only as few saplings to deal with.

I have a STD duty one.....it cuts good and should do fine for your needs if just cutting field with small saplings nothing over 2" for sure......I got the howse brand cause it was the cheapest cutter i priced locally......Mike

I too have a standard duty Howse 4'. Probably 10 years old. Works fine. Use it probably 6-8 times a year.
It's not a finish mower.

I used to have a light duty Howse 500 rotary cutter. The manual only mentioned grass and weeds, but it had no problem with 1" to 2" saplings. I liked it and it served my purposes just fine, but it was not as good quality as the Bush Hog Squealer I had before the Howse. Of course, the Howse cost less, too.

We run a 6' Howse behind a Ford 4000. It is the shear pin model. Has held up very well and is at least 10 years old. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good cutter for a good price.

I have owned a Howse 5ft brush mower for 10 years. Bought new, around $500. Have abused the heck out it. Hit many stumps. Had to take it to the weld shop only once. Still performs. Cheap but sturdy mower.

Had a 6' Howse brand with the 6" channel frame , very heavy built and cut almost as good as a finishing mower with the hi-lift blades, got caught up in the brand name with one of those deals that was to good to pass up on a 6' Bush Hog Squealer, it is a great mower with better fit and finish but it does not cut as good as my Howse did in my opinion.

I have a 10' 3pt howse mower.. it will cut anything my ford 5000 front axle can push over... and is strong enough to accidentally knock over 3" and 4" sapplings when you don't turn hard enough :)

I had a 4' Howse I bought for my BX22 and it worked ok. It wasn't heavy duty but it did the job. I think I paid around $500 for it .....

Fast fwd now I have a Mahindra 2516 and use a Woods 42 and I think I paid about the same. I found it on Craigslist like new only used one time and it was too big for their tractor lol.
