I am in the market for another zero turn commercial mower and have been a big fan of my Exmark. But since I farm, I'm partial to the green. I heard Deere is coming out with some new mowers and was wondering if anyone had one yet and what you guys thought about them? I'm looking for a 25hp and 60" deck. Thanks.

We have had great success with them with the exception of the Z820, Deere still has some bugs to work out of that model. The rest of the line-up is great and we have been selling them very well.

I'd be interested in the bugs found in the 820. I just bought one and have been very happy for the first 12 hours. Sounds like I need to watch for those bugs while it is still in warranty.

Your wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

I've had my JD 997 Diesel for about a month now. So far I'm very satisfied with it. It has the 72" 7 Iron deck. Doesn't lack for power.

Thanks for the reply guys. We purchased a used Deere 1445 w/72" deck and 4X4 w/hyd lift deck and 31hp diesel at a farm sale. Thought we'd like it, but we don't. I mean it mows great as long as your on level ground. Has plenty of power, and turns very short for not being a zero turn. But hopefully I can sell this and find a nice used exmark or bad boy mower.

Do yourself a favor and check out Hustler or the Landpride line up. Decks are by far the best built in the indusry and smoothest hydros too. The front edge on my deck is about 6" thick boxed area. Best thing I like is the brakes are built into the handles. Push them into outward position and that sets the brakes.

Ditto the above comment about wanting to know more about the z820a bugs. :) Our church purchased one this spring and have yet to discover any. What should we be looking for?

No bugs guys, just a little under powered if you have 60" deck, MCS and hills. I've been told JD is working on a solution. The IHT takes more power than the tetst units I guess. Just get the most horsepower for the size deck you want to ensure mowing bliss.:)
