I think safety is a nice thing, but it's more of a perception then reality. For those of us who are self employed and/or have a small number of employees, saftey is just common sense with allot of calculated risks. When I worked for a bigger, nationwide company, we used saftey as an excuse to get out of doing stuff more then anything else. With caution, most tasks that are considered unsafe are easily accomplished, but if you make an issue about it, you can get out of having to do it. I'm guilty of playing the game and as a shop stward for 8 years, I even encouraged it.
Customer satsfaction is the top of my list because without that, I'm not in business and nothing else matters. What it takes to create that level of satisfaction that not only enables me to receive money from total strangers, but even more importantly, for them to go out of their way to get me work from people they know, is based on just that one thing. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
The rest of the list is secondary. As an employee, many people don't consider that as important and just think of their part of the company, but when the company fails to satisfy those paying the bills, the company will no longer exist.
The next items on the list relate to number one, but they are in no way close to being as important as satisfying the client.
