How to tell year of Tractor

New member here great site I have learnt so much from it.
I am just in the process of buying a preowned R4041H and was wondering if anyone knows how to tell what year it is ? I been told it's a 2012 but as I have not looked at it in person(going to see it Sunday)don't know ?can you break down from Ser# like a car or pickup? the reason I'm asking is the FEL only has LS on it not the loader model like some other ones I see on line from 2012.

Should be model LL4101 I think.

I have a 2014 LS XR3037HC. Bought new last Feb. My serial number does not give any indication of the year (No 13 or 14 in the number, it could be a leftover 2013 for all I know. 2013 was the first year for the XR3037) and serial numbers are not listed on the tractordata site. I would guess if you had the vin number (serial number) you could email or call LS Tractor headquarters and ask if they could tell you the year. LS has only been selling the tractors under their own LS name since 1995. I'm sure the loader is an LL4101. Ask the owner if he has the original paperwork. Ask what dealer it was bought from and give them a call and ask how it was purchased (cash or financed). Lastly, if it was financed make sure the owner has proof it was paid off. If you buy it, all that paperwork should come with the tractor.
More of a concern would be condition of tractor, service records, hours, etc.

I asked this same question around 6 months ago with no success. I finally found out a way to do this. Call LS parts in NC. at there plant. Talk to a parts person. Give them the serial number off your tractor. They now have a reference code that they can determine the year of manufacturing. They can also referance the engine with its serial number. The guy I talked to was very helpful. This reference data is not yet available to the public as far as I know but I would assume it will be in the near future.
