how to move NH 910 swather

I was given a NH910 swather. The only problem is it does not run, and they want it out of the way or they will call recyclers. I see a lot of future use still left in this machine. I think I can get the header loaded on a trailer. but was wanting to make a tow bar and tow the rest backwards down the road. my problem is the hydrostatic drive. Is there somewhere to disconnect the drive so it will not get harmed in this 20 mile move. Or is there a better way.

it's a 40 year old machine built with designs that have been obsolete for decades. Nothing in the parts breakdown indicates it is hydrostatic, it is clearly a planetary drive setup driven by a variable speed belt. If I were to transport this unit I'd probably cut it up in manageable pieces and haul it that way. You might consider removing the driveshafts running between the final drives and the central gearbox/chaincase.

FYI thanks for that great advice. Didnt follow it , just cut my 20 acre first time with it, total investment 310.00. She a little noise and slow but cant beat the price

Did you get that hydrostatic drive figured out?
