How to fix a rollor

A friend of mine offered me an old lawn roller that has a small split in the seam. I don't have a welder, any ideas on how I may go about fixing it. He said the split is only about 1/4" wide by 3 or 4 inches long.

Take it to a welding shop...might cost you a few bucks.

You could try some JB Weld first (Walmart sells it), if that doesn't hold then take it to a welder.
