how much to rebuild my TC21d engine?

I have a great little tractor which I inherited but it is getting a little tired.
How much would/should it cost me to have it rebuilt?
Just for grins is a new engine worth it?

if the tractor is in good working order an everything works on it,then i would have a new motor put in it.but if the motor cost $2000 or more it might be better to get a new tractor.

Have you had the injectors tested?

A "rebuild" covers a wide range of methods and processes some necessary each time, many not. Anyone quoting a rebuild without knowing a lot more about the condition of the engine really doesn't have a clue.
A long block for an early TC21D runs well over $8000 which is likely more than the tractor is worth in many markets.

$8000 for a long block on that size tractor you got tobe kidding.we payed $7000 for a new engine for a 7700 ford in 91.

1200 + hours
smokes pretty good under load.
I have not had any testing done

Change the air filters and run a couple tanks of fuel with a good conditioner through it.

i would have to agree but i would also change the fuel filter then if that doesn't work i would have the injectors checked and check for a salvage motor at a salvage yard if needed to

these tractors have some high dollar parts inside of them i cost me around 1000 just in parts to put rings rod bearings and a complete gaskett kit in a 1320 ford and there is alot more higher dollar parts inside of one of these
