Ken, I took a WAG on seed weight. Based on quantity of seed used during seed meter calibration. I can't figure why one would bother to load a planter for 8 rows. I'm guessing it's not 1 pass with an 8 row machine. Lol.

From dirtworks.net a 50 lb bag of corn seed contains about 80,000 kernels. MikeD74T

Variables here, but 4 lbs of seed ought to do you just fine. Pretty hard, the first time, to have things come out precisely.

I planted 14 rows, 90 feet long, Silver Queen, 100 seeds per row, and used about 1 pound. Dropped the seeds by hand.

My seed catalog says 6 sweet corn seeds per gram. 454 grams per pound =~ 2724 or so seeds per pound.
