The tractor I have is a AGCO ALLIS 5650 (spec estimate 46.7 HP). I'm looking at buying a used John Deere 1350 mower/conditioner. Question is - would my tractor have enough HP to run it? The land is would be used on is relatively flat. Hay crop runs average to light yield. thanks anyone. The person who owns the mower now uses a Montana 5740C.

Welcome to TBN ! I believe you will have adequate HP to run that mower conditioner, more importantly is having the proper amount of weight on your tractor to keep it from being pushed around while running larger implements, mower conditioner, baler etc ! Loaded tires, wheel weights are allways an asset in those applications. You did say that your property is flat so that makes it even less of an issue but I thought I would pass that info just the same.

I run a 2 meter Krone mower WITHOUT conditioner. the 5245 (weighing 4 ton) doesnt notice it, with the 3011 (1800kg, 40 hp) it can HP wise drive in 4th gear in heavy crop, though i have to keep in 3rd because it pulls the front into the standing crop.
