1952 8N, 2005 JD 5103
Hey guys...quick question...I have a 47 2N I am in the process of cleaning up, replacing some wires and a tune up, probably a rattle-can paint job to make it look decent and plan on selling it. I have an 8N and a JD 5103 already so really have no use for the 2N. It runs great, everything works and tires are in good shape...just needs a sprucing up. What is a good asking price for this tractor? I was thinking $2K or best offer, is that too high, just right, too low...? Just looking for a little input from guys that have more experience with this than me!

Mornin Deerefan,
Well, you really didnt tell us much about the tractor. How are the tires etc. I would reccomend you visit Yesterdays Tractors and go over to the Ford Board. Try going to the photo classifieds section and compare what you have to whats out there for sale allready ! This will give you some type of benchmark as to approximate value of your machine !

Opps sorry didnt see your comment on the tires :")

No experience buying or selling 2Ns. But from the local ads, eBay and the Blue Book, IMHO a fair price would be $2400.

This past spring I paid $2,200 for a 51' 8N, with back blade and york rake attachment. Runs great, good paint, excellent (nearly new) tires. This is in upstate NY. My gut tells me that $2,000 is just a shade high, simply because its the older 2N model and lacks some of the features in the 8N. But it's certainly sounds like you are in the ballpark.

Thanks for the help. The tractor is fairly clean, kept under a tarp most of its life until it came to me. It has been in my barn for a year as I work on it. I'll surf some other sites too and see what they say. Thanks again!

2000 is a good start point.. it may only go for 1800 if the tinwork is bad. on the other hand.. if its a real good runner.. perhaps 2200.

Your location will have an impact on the price too. in some areas.. running N are in the 1500$ range.. etc. And some areas.. the 3000$ range.. etc.
