Looking at purchasing a 5055e or 5065e. Future implements include:

  • loader (possible float)
  • rear blade
  • box blade
  • small hay rake
  • square bailer
  • possible front snow plow
  • possible backhoe

How many minimum remotes/quick-connects/SCVs are required, and where would they be mounted? Thanks, guys.

For the loader there will be mid mount couplers on the right side of the tractor. Then you will probably only be able to get 2 rear scv's for the rear of the tractor. I've got a 5103 Deere and it only came with 1 rear remote and I bought a second and put it on myself. I haven't looked at the new models real close but I don't think there's enough room for more than 2 rear remotes because of how the valves stack together. If you get a rear blade get one with hydraulic title and angle , you won't regret it. That would take 2 remotes for that. I don't know about the backhoe how many it would require to work it. A hay rake and square bailey don't require remotes to run. Box blades could use 1 remote if you get one with hydraulic rippers.

If go to Deere.com and build one you can only get 2 sets of rear remotes. I would get 2 sets because they will cost you much more to add later. I'd make sure to get one set with Float.

Seems you can never have enough!

I wonder why Europe has been so far ahead of us in this area. They would probably laugh at what we get as standard equipment!

Thanks, guys - would any additional hydraulics be required for a front snow plow (to angle it)?

I have a electric valve on my JD valve stack that works the (loader) blade/grapple, whatever ou have out front. It is an on/off type valve with a toggle switch on your loader lever, so you cannot feather it.
