How many hours on your kubota ZD21??

I've been looking at new ZTR mowers again. I had a bad experience with a cub z-force 44 and I'm in the hole pretty bad (money wise)and I'm now looking at a better model.I think I want a ZD21 Kubota.I looked at them and really like the quality.How many hours do you have on yours and what are some pros and cons of the mower?I have about 6 plus acres to mow.,mostly flat. I want a mower that will out last me, or at least come close.

48 hours since I got it last October. Just about ready to do the 50 hr. service on it.

I love this thing. I mow about 10 acres total every week to 10 days. Cut my mowing time to less than half what I was spending and the fuel economy is great! Less than 1/2 gallon an hour mowing at full throttle. I used a G1900 4ws 60" deck before I got the ZD.

Got to go get started now, mowing is too much fun with the ZD. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A buddy of mine has a mowing business and he hates the Scag mowers. He has abused, er, I mean used, the Kubota ZD mowers ever since. Do they make a ZD28? I think he has a ZD21 and a ZD28. I think he has over 3000 hours on each.

My dad and uncle used to be big fans of Cub stuff. Both have been burned on poor quality on recent stuff and have sworn off the brand. Consumer reports has rated them as one of the least reliable brands for several years now. That seems to back up the experience my dad, my uncle, and you have experienced. Good luck!

Oh, I forgot to add, the ZD mowers seem to be one of the best bargains for the money as well. I mow 12 acres of lawn every week and I prefer front mount mowers so I have Grasshopper front mounts. They both do have Kubota diesel engines in them though. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
