One spendy Panasonic purchased from Costco several years ago. It's not in front of me right now & I have no idea what model. It has all kinds of horns & whistles I've no clue how to use and I leave it on 'Auto' at all times. I keep meaning to take a class or something, but no time. (Can't make heads or tails of the manual.) Lately I've been thinking about a cheapie to keep on the tractor just for chits & giggles.

Funny thing is, my first digicam (the HP) was very basic and bulky, fixed lens, tiny LCD, low mp, used a large, low gb Compact Flash card and ate AA batteries...and cost over $200. The Olympus cost me $65 (!!!!!) has a superzoom 35-250 mm lens, 3" LCD, is about the size of a deck of cards, has fantastic battery life even when using 14mp resolution and uses SD cards. It just amazes me how much digicams have developed in 10 years. Oh, for what it is worth, my old HP had so few functions it was easy to figure out...the new camera...NOBODY is going to ever need nor use all the functions, let alone figure out how to use them.

Our 2011 Nikon Coolpix L120 is our only camera now, and I can't remember who I gave the 2001 Olympus 240D to when I bought the Nikon. And since I'll never really learn to use this Nikon, I sure don't need any more cameras.

Too many to list or remember..bought a lot and have been given several...
I really like the new Canon's
But I do remember and still have the first two I bought

Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD71 (mid 1998, 10x optical zoom lens)

Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD91 / MVC-FD91CUSA (1999) (14x optical zoom)...This is a remarkable camera and I still use it...it's not not very good for printing (limited pixels) but for viewing on a PC it is great...the worst problem these days is finding 3.5" disks...of course a 3.5 drive is required which are obsolete these days... As old as it is this camera with the 14X optical zoom is still hard to beat...along with the (Sony) "Steady Shot" and the auto focus features

On old Sony Mavica 92.. it still has the 3.5 inch disk, but also a sony mem stick, looks like a piece of gum.. It still works well with a good 14x zoom.. about $600 as I remember. also some kind of little old canon cheapie, we won at a raffle it works well though especially to take under 1 meg pix for tractorbynet. . And a nice new canon, tiny flat little thing, it was about $100 I think.. has lots of features, I use just a few of them. and takes HD pix and movies. But the camera's in our Motorola Droids are about as good.

I remember those sony's, we used them at work 12 years ago when we first started putting equipment pictures online....floppy disk and all!

I have an older Olympus c-3040 zoom ....from around 2000. Has 3 mp quality. still takes nice pictures

i replaced that with a canon 50D early last year. 15.1 MP. takes amazing pics. funny thing is the 70-200 f2.8 lens cost about 3x what the camera cost. canons sure arnt cheap.

When digital cameras first came out, I overspent on a 640 x 480 model. I've had a least a dozen since then and half a dozen video cameras as well. Latest is a Sony A35 SLT w/three lenses. I've spent way more than I should have. Could say the same about computers, I guess.

Got several - someplace, just not sure where, but in my office somewhere. Since wife and I both have iPhones, we never use a regular camera. Bet I've taken more pics since 2007 than the rest of my life. The handiness of the iPhone I'll take a pic of most anything I want to remember even if just a few minutes. Yea, this violated the rules - oops :)

Yeah...despite all my digcams I probably only took 500-600 images on them all while my now retired 2 mp Blackberry camera had over 2500 pictures on it....

It is interesting to me how folks buy so many digital cameras, and use a tiny
fraction of their capabilities. A few years ago, a magazine survey found that more
than half of digital camera owners filled up the memory cards, and never deleted
photos...just bought more cards.

I bought my first digital camera, an EyeQEasy over 10 y ago, and I gave it away.
It had no monitor, and it had 1.2 mega-pxiels. Fixed memory, no card, made in
PRC. It cost less than $100, while the name brands were all north of $200.

My first good camera (Nikon 885) is a 3Mpixel, CF unit that I still use, as it has
a rechargeable battery that works well with flash. I use it for most flash photos
that I post on the web. Subsequent Nikons (2, including a Coolpix 5600 and a
an L100) use AA batteries which are lousy when using flash.

The L100 is very portable and has a 3" monitor, which I love. Just not good in low
light. I have never had a cell phone with a camera in it.

I also never print photos, but often edit them, and sometimes create slide shows
to show on our 55" TV. I have thousands on my main computer, and have posted
hundreds and hundreds on the web and email them all the time.

I have a free JVC video camera, and use MS MovieMaker to make the few videos
I have posted on Youtube. I have also used my still cameras for short videos,
but gave that up.

One DSLR and one old video camera that can take stills. The new DSLR can also do video but I have only played with video a few times.

I recently bought a Cannon Rebel for our trip to Hawii. I always thought my old Cannon 35mm couldn't be beat for picture quality, but this new digital is pretty darn good. The problem is the cost. I bought a telephoto lens also, and the total cost was something north of $500 as I recall. We have about 3 other digital camers of various makes, mostly Sony, but they don't compare to the newer Cannon. Whats nice is you just take a bunch of pictures, and delete the bad ones out later.

3 digitals: Nikon D300 SLR, Olympus tough camera for fishing and outdoor elements, and and older canon. I also have 3 35mm Nikon SLR's, one is an F-5.
I stuck with nikons since 1989 because all the lenses are interchangable, so what I used then I can use on my D300.
