I'm thinking an IMatch or similar device would be nice on my JD2520 but I'd like to hear from those who own them. Are they really easy and attach to anything? What are the biggest issues in using them. They appear to have a fixed distance across the pins. Every implement I own, mostly JD stuff, each have different pin widths. How does this device work with different width pins? What brand works the best? Thanks.

I use the IMatch setup on almost everything I have, some implements needed minor welding and modifications and others were made IMatch ready to start with. Not knowing which implements you have on hand leads me to advise you to check their fit to determine what will work. Might be advisable to borrow an IMatch from your dealer to see if it will fit your existing equipment before you decide to buy. This way you will know for sure what will and won't fit.
I am very satisfied with the IMatch and have one on my 4520 fulltime with top and tilt, I have a second one that is shared between my riding mower and the other tractors. I often change out implements alone and find it makes this a quick and easy operation. IMO the more implements you have available to you the more desirable the IMatch becomes as you can pick the right tool for the job at hand and quickly be on your way.

i have a JD 4720 and the iMatch works great and is easy to use. most of my attachments are Frontier so they came iMatch compatible - i just purchased a Woods RC and that dealer got me a bushing kit (about $25.00) and it fits perfect. the iMatch may have you reaching a bit to put the PTO drive-line on, but that's not a big deal...i would not go without a quick hitch.

A quick hitch is one of the best attachments I own. I just traded my JD IMatch for the Land Pride Quick Hitch to get a little more flexibility, though. The Land Pride allows you to quickly adjust the top link hook when necessary for attachments which are not IMatch compatible, which reduces the chance of having to modify the attachment to fit. To me, the difference in cost between the JD and Land Pride was worth it to avoid the cost of modifying my non-quick hitch compatible attachments. The JD IMatch is designed for JD/Frontier quick hitch attachments, although some others may fit.
Sometimes my time is at a premium, and being able to quickly change out attachments is great. But the convience at anytime is worth even more. Yeah, I know-a quick hitch is not a necessity, but boy, is it ever handy.....
My dealer is great to work with, which makes this even better. Great shop, too.

I believe that's not quite accurate - the iMatch is designed for implements meeting a recognized ASAE standard, it is the implement makers that decide to use or not use that standard. Many non-Deere implements work fine "as is", some do not.
It usually isn't hard to modify either the implement or the top link end to make something work - this is what we did for the Caroni flail - adds a minute or so to install.
Hmm, thanks for the info. One of the reasons I asked is the fact that the IMatch is designed to meet the ASAE standard which does not totally nail down the 3 point geometry. That is why all implements and quick hitches may not be alike. I'm really not thrilled about possibly having to modify everything I have. Maybe I'll look into the Land Pride or another brand if they are more flexible.

I have an iMatch and it works great, saves lots of time and is easy to use. Without it I usually needed assistance to drop or change out an implement. Not any more. You may initially need to add bushings or replace the pins on some implements so that you are set-up to go. I have not had any reason for a modification to the iMatch. Any new implement I purchase (I have some on my target list) are all iMatch compatible.

Put it this way, in a few years no one will even ask this question. it would be equivalent to asking if power steering and padded seats are nice.
That's how useful a QH is, as far as brands go I have the imatch and also a HF one the HF model does allow for different top link pin heights, but I don't need different heights since I have all implements modded to fit Imatch.
I have a hodge podge of makes of implements including JD, Land Pride, no name and home made. What ever effort it takes to mod them to fit is well worth the life time of ease of use. Get a HTL for even greater convenience and versatility.

I agree with JB, a quick hitch is best when you don't have to get off and make any adjustments. Take the time to make your implements fit the IMatch one time, then you are able to change them without leaving the seat.
