how do you bleed a ford 1500 diesel

I ran out of diesel and refilled the tank. How do you bleed the air out of the system?

Open the bleed screw on the filter, 22A, until the air is purged. Tighten screw.
Open bleed screw on injection pump, #2, until air is purged.
Try starting with throttle above half open. If it fails to start, crack open the injection line nuts one to two turns. Crank engine over with throttle at full on. When bubbles have slowed or cleared up, tighten nuts, set throttle to half and try starting. Repeat if unsuccessful starting.
Wear safety glasses and don't put your hand near injectors when cranking as fuel is under very high pressure.
