having trouble getting the 3 point lift cylinder housing removed. I have taken out 8 bolts and 2 nuts, nothing. I tried to push against a stud and lift the housing with a pry bar, nothing. I tried to hit it around the perimeter with a dead blow, nothing. Then I bolted up an engine hoist to it and I think it will lift the tractor. Are they just that tight? I am about to try to wedge something between the housing and the transmission case.

Any advise or experience to share? Please see pics.
Thanks

Looks like you have all the bolts out, so yes, apparently yours is going to need A LOT of persuasion. I'd try a combination of using the lift and tapping around it with a sharp chisel to try so get in between the trans case housing and the rockshaft housing. Kubotabooks.com has a parts book for your machine, it shows the rockshaft diagram and all the nuts/bolts ( looks like 10) that have to be removed. The fist time I had to remove my trans cover, it was a bear! I think I too could have lifted the tractor by the case and it wouldn't have separated.

I was hoping that I had missed a bolt, but I think it is time to wedge it.

Yes, but they will come right off they are not in a bind. I had just put them back on because I was tired of them being on the floor.

Thanks for the idea though

put some pressure on it with your chain hoist and hit where your top link goes with a hammer

I left it with a little pressure on it and will try hitting it tomorrow while pressure is applied, thanks for the suggestion

I think his top link pin ears bolt to the rear trans case and the rockshaft housing isn't bolted to it, just sits behind the top of it.

In my younger day we overhauled various compressors and other industrial machinery so am well aware of your dilemma. We used some thin steel wedges to break the seal of glued down gaskets. Found some at McMaster Carr see this link. McMaster-Carr

It is easy to break casting if you apply too much pressure in one place. We used four or more on large surfaces. The pipe flange ones are longer and thinner on the end. We used both. Did big pipe flanges also.

I think thats a good idea, maybe lift it higher also.
I noticed at the rear, you could possibly get a "paint scraper" of some sort in-between the gaskets.
Maybe some sort of "degrease spray" sprayed in the cracks and at the back section,
where it can seep between the gaskets.
