How do I clear the codes in my 9420

Alright guys I can't find this anywhere on the internet . How do I clear my codes outta my 9420 tractor . Someone please help me fast!!!

Apparently turning the switch off, that doesn't start the computer from a boot-up to bring in a fresh set of conditions that set off the codes.

Maybe disconnect the battery for a short period will re-start the computer.

And maybe I am way off base..

most cars ( and maybe tractors ) reset the computers when ... BOTH battery cables are removed from the battery and the 2 cables are connected together for 30 seconds or so .... this drains any power from internal circuits and rests the computers to factory settings .... then reconnect the cables to the battery ...

do not do this IF your machine has a coded radio ....

your mileage may vary.

I haven't been able to find any info on clearing the codes other than having a dealer plug into it with their computer to clear them. I have to ask, why do you want to clear them? If you have a problem, the code is active and won't clear until problem is resolved. When problem is resolved, the code will no longer be displayed on your screen. It is still stored in memory, but it causes no problem there.

Codes can be cleared by using a sequence of buttons on the right hand console. I forget but the dealer should be able to tell you. Also unplugging the battery will not clear the codes.
