Not for you but cerrtainly for us, 39C yesterday and 43C today and needed to cool off, made a warmchicken salad for dinner which has quite a chilli bite and wanted something refreshing to cut through the 'bite'.
Look through the fridge and pull out a couple of cucumbers, the long skinny ones not the English variety, peeled and desseded and got 340g of cubed flesh, add half a cup of suger, 2 tbs lemon juice and put in the blender until smooth, into the ice cream machine (ours is the refrigerated/compressor type) and 20 minutes later we have a lovely cooling sorbet, into a container and into the freezer for a couple of hours, interesting flavour, cooling and not overpowering and certainly cut through the chilli from the salad.
Enough for three people, double up if you want more, may add some mint next time which could add another dimension or some creme de menthe which should make a smoother texture.
