Horsepower to pull a eversman 2 1/2 yard scraper

I have found a 2 1/2 yard Emersman Scraper for sale but I'm not sure my M 5700 will pull it, does anyone have any experance with these.

Not familiar but if it's a pan type scraper, your tractor don't have enough weight to handle the pull, even in 4wd with the diff's locked.

Well. maybe in sandy loam but no hardpan.

How many hp do you have? Dirt pans are hard to load.

You probably need 90-100 hp to really move dirt with it without struggling and straining.

Really? I have a an old 3 1/2 yard pan that I can load comfortably with 160 hp 2wd and with 85 hp 2wd it loads about halfway, so that's how I arrived at 90-100 hp for the 2 1/2 yard pan. Maybe that's not enough.

It will depend more on the weight of the tractor, the condition and type of tires and whether 2 or 4 wheel drive but the weight (tractive effort) produced by the tractor will be the important factor and if the earth is sandy loam or hardpan clay.

In other words, I can't see you pulling a 2.5 yard belly scraper with a 57 horsepower medium frame tractor, 4 wd or not, in blue clay hardpan. In sandy loam, no problem

Eversman makes some nice pans by the way.
