Over the last 6 years I have been working on a project with my horse trailer. It started out when I purchased a 70's series Hale GN stock trailer. The previous owner had created an LQ area in the front portion of the trailer. It was done fairly well however the exterior wasn't sealed well enough and mold developed behind the wooden paneling. So I stripped out all the interior and for about 2 years pretty much left it as a stock trailer. Always wanting to have the LQ back I started to think on how to redo the area and what I could do to improve the concept. Unfortunately i've been sporatic on the pictures but I've got some.

The first few are after raising the roof 12".

The next few pictures show skinning the front and replacing / creating a new access door.

Ok, here it is at the current stage. I have had the trailer sand blasted and primed, tightened and painted floor in horse area, finished all sheet metal and am now in the stages of getting ready to insulate and install a couple of windows.

And some more.

After this and as the weather is turning cooler I'll be waiting to paint till next year. I've got a few more things to get done before I put it up for the winter and as soon as I get those items done I'll post pictures. Hopefully all will be done within a week or two.

Just a hint, I have done a couple of these. Find a damaged or used slide on or pull behind camper. Last one I got was two years old and the gut busted up the roof hitting a tree. gave $500.00 and got all my windows, heater, hot water, refrigerator, shower, toilet, sinks, cabinets, electrical converter, water tank and pump -sure beats buying them individual. Also the matteress and cushions will work in the goose neck for the bed area.

Well I started in on my livestock project. Its a rebuild Moritz 16 foot livestock Trailer. When I bought ita month ago it seemed pretty solid! decent floor with very little rust thru! It had a bit at the nose and lowwer4 inches where they usually rust.

Step 1 was tear up the decent floor which I thought I could but the screws where too badly rusted and they ended up breaking. The floor was torn up but in pieces! I looked over the damage rusted metal that is! a bit more than I thought.

Step 2. Had it sandblasted just lowwer part and any obvious rust! Not happy with the sand blasting job guy had it done in 1.5 hrs and he missed alot! Thinking I should call him back and see if he can redo it!

step 3 I am currently at starting too remove old rusted out metal and grind and wire brush the trailer in steps! Meaning I have to devide the trailer up in sections and work on a section at the time, or I end up jumping all over!:confused2: I have friend in metal fab and he is getting the metal and even going to bend a few parts up for me. I should get some pics up in the next few days
