2006 Mahindra 7520 4WD w/ ML 275 loader, bale spear, pallet forks, grille guard & canopy.
I was going to my dealer yesterday to get my new tractor ordered but they were closed an extra day for the 4th, I guess. Hope to get up there tomorrow and get it on the way.

I am purchasing a new 2006 7520 4WD with the ML275 loader that has the quick attach adapter, bucket, Mahindra bale spear, Mahindra pallet forks, Mahindra grille guard, and a canopy.

My brother-in-law is also purchasing the same tractor but without the bale spear and pallet forks. We are going to purchase them from the same dealer and he told us that he would order us the tractors straight from the factory rather than to try to find two of them on someone else's lot. He told us that he could give us a better price on them as he would not have to pay shipping on them like he would if he got them transferred from another dealer.

Can't wait until it gets here. Do any of you own this particular model Mahindra? I was just wondering how well they do on fuel consumption? Any feedback would be appreciated from any of you who has one.

Cuz-Pat, I don't think that you will be disappointed. I know that I sure do like mine. Fuel consumption is hard to say, it depends on how hard the tractor gets worked. The most that I have used is 1 1/2 -- 1 3/4 gallons per hour, but I am just guessing, I just fill it up, never measure the fuel. That was at full throttle while pulling a disc cutting into the ground 8"-9" deep. I wrote a review on mine, have you checked that out? I think that there are only a few of us 7520 owners here on the board.
Good luck with yours and post some pics when you get it. Be sure to let us know how you like it. It helps others like yourself while doing research on the different models.

Brian,
Where can I find your review? I would like to read it. Is it in the Mahindra Forum? Archived?

Is your tractor blue? You must have painted it. I have never seen a blue Mahindra. I bet it looks sharp! I really like blue and would order it if it were an option.

I am supposed to be at my dealer in the morning at 7:00 a.m. to get it ordered. Martin Truck & Tractor in Aliceville, Alabama has the honors of selling me my tractor. They gave me the best deal and they are located only 36 miles from my farm and my home. Man, I cannot wait until it arrives. He is ordering me a fresh tractor straight from the Mahindra factory.

Cuz-Pat, look in the review section at the top of the screen. Yes it is blue. I had it painted. When I was looking at tractors, and I had looked for 2 years, the sales guy asked what was stopping me from making the purchase? My reply was "I don't know if I can stand looking out over that red hood all day" you see I don't care for the color red much. He said if that is all that is stopping you, then we will paint it. He offered to paint it at no charge, I declined and said figure out what it will cost and I will pay for the paint job.
Anyway that is how I ended up with a blue Mahindra.
Good luck with yours and remember to post some pictures. Oh, what are the 7520's going for these days?

Cuz-Pat,
I have a 2006 7520 4WD set up almost exactly as you are planning. I have the ML275-SK loader. Im not sure the Quick Attach is compatible with Skid Steer implements. The SK is and there is a tremendous variety of implements available from OEM and aftermarket. Much more than any single tractor manufacturer can offer for their tractor specific attachment. Have you considered this?
My tractor has about 70 hrs. I have had some problems, but the only one that would give me some pause about buying the tractor is that I cannot account for the claim of 17GPM hydraulic delivery, I can only account for about 11 in the lift rate of the FEL.
Ild enjoy sharing experiences after you get yours!

Larry, if you don't mind me asking, what problems have you had? I have had 2 problems myself. My overflow tank for the radiator cracked just outside of a year and my differential lock never had a return spring installed or it is to weak to work. It's inside the housing and I don't want it messed with. I just have to remember to pull the pedal up when it's not needed anymore. Although I have thought about installing an external return spring. Other than that, it's been trouble free.
What goodies came with your tractor? It's my understanding that a lot of the standard stuff became optional in 2005, or did I here somebody wrong?

Just wondering

I did get the skid steer loader with quick attach adapter and all the attachments are the skid steer attachments. It was ordered this morning from Mahindra through Martin Truck & Tractor in Aliceville, Alabama. My salesman said it should be here in about two weeks. The only thing I changed on the original plans was the canopy. He offered me a polished aluminum diamond plate canopy rather than the red fiberglass canopy, for the same money. He told me the fiberglass canopy's faded badly in the sun and were easy to break if you hit something with it. He showed me one of the diamond plate canopy's and I liked it so I guess that is what I will go with.

What is yall's opinion on the canopy? Any of you have experience with either one? Which would you choose? No price difference at all.

Oh, they are also going to fill my rear tires with water and methanol at no extra charge with me supplying the 10 gallons of methanol (5 gallons per tire).
He had a chart that showed it would add 680 lbs. to the weight of the tractor.

Be glad when this bad boy gets here. Brian, I figured you must have painted it. Looks good. I'll try to get some pics of mine on here when it arrives.

Hi Brian. No, Ild love to share info. I havnt had the same problems. Heres a list of mine:
1) Hydraulic leaks on the FEL and tractor - Apparently poor setup when FEL was added;
2) Loose bolts holding FEL frame to tractor - Same setup issue. Also one female thread on tractor was near stripped - probably poor Q in factory casting left pilot hole too large.
3) One of the loader curl cylinders broke internally. Mahindra knew of this problem and fitted upgraded cylinders under warrantee. This weakness probably lurks in yours.
4) Battery started going dead. The relay for the intake manifold heater was sticking on and giving a constant 45 amp drain. I disconnected it. They havnt replaced it yet. It starts right up without it in 40 degree weather, but I still want it replaced.
5) Not really a tractor problem, but there are some missing parts out of the several items removed from the tractor when it was being fitted with FEL and BH. The one I really need is the main pin for the draw bar.

Im not sure what goodies I have that you might not - - A whole bunch of idiot lights and a few warning beepers. A horn. Rear socket for trailer electrics. Two sets hyd remotes.
Im curious. I havnt done any serious ground engagement yet other than FEL. How big a disc were you pulling. What gear to use all the power??

Cuz-Pat, Glad you got the SK version of the loader.
I have the fiberglass canopy. I didnt think of fading. I considered inherent flexibility, self straightening and easy repair of damage. I like it. It's cool and quiet. There is an inner foam liner.
That must be 1680 lb for the tire load. You shouldnt need the methanol in Alabama. If you just use water you can unload it on the ground. Im using water for that reason. Im planning to drain it in winter and refill temporary when I need the weight.

Spyderlk,

Did you have your FEL installed later after you had already bought the tractor? Was it installed at the dealer? Mine is coming straight from the factory with the FEL already on it.

Maybe, just maybe I won't have some of those same problems since mine will arrive with the FEL already on it. Sure hope so.

In spite of those few problems, you still have a great tractor!
