Any use Hoofgrid or a similar product for mud issues in horse paddocks?

The end of our barn turns into a mud pit every year. We are going to do some work on improving the drainage, etc, but my wife and MIL are thinking about this type of product and I am looking for some feedback.

I know nothing about those products but I know you can till in a large amount of lime and it will turn "hard" and not mud up anymore. Ed

They are various forms of these grids available, not just for "horse" use. We used them for a driveway.
