Hood will not open

Hi I cannot open the hood on my ck30. The hood release is moving back and forth but I cannot lift the hood looks like it is not unlatching. Does anyone here ever have that problem and how the heck am I to open it. I tried pushing down on it, lifting while jiggling the release cable and nothing. Any help is appreciated

I had same issue with my CK25 and yesterday with my DK40. After much frustration I applied firm pressure down on hood while pulling release handle. It will open just mess with it. Oh yes make sure you are trying to open the top of hood. My first problem was I was pulling up on the metal surround below the actual hood, not the hood itself.

One more thing; DO NOT yank on handle or you will break the mechanism.

Mine sticks sometimes. I just pull lever with left hand and hold it and give the hood and give it a tap (down) with palm of right hand. After you get it open, a little spray lube on the latch makes it much easier next time.

I am sorry I cannot help much on how to get it open, but when mine got balky and difficulty to open I soaked the latch and sprayed it down the cable with Fluid Film. Now it opens like a dream. I cannot say enough good things about Fluid Film. I use it all over the tractor as a lube and protective corrosion cover.

My Kubota is the same way, a good downward tap on top of the hood while pulling on the hood release makes it release.

Thanks all for the responses.
I think Kioti should somehow put in some kind of a spring under the hood that when you pull the latch it should spring up like on our cars and trucks. This makes more sense than the system that they use now.

I finally got the hood open Jeez I am stupid :laughing: . I going too far down on the front and grabbing the steel frame instead of the hood handle :ashamed:. Basically nothing wrong with the hood. Sorry Kioti for blaming you.

Hey, it takes a big man to admit he made a mistake.. Nothing wrong with that. Now lube it up anyway, and spray some down the cable also, to keep it all working easy.:thumbsup:

Yup, Like I said make sure its the hood you are lifting up on.
