Well my wife has been begging me to get started on some landscaping around the place since we finished our home (just before winter hit). And not to mention she was elated that we started to finally get grass growing in front and the dogs stopped tracking mud into the house when it rained. But alas all of that went out the window about a week and half ago. While she was at work I had just finished mowing and was enjoying a nice frosty beverage (to remain nameless) and decided to excavate the area I needed to put in a paver walkway from the front porch to the driveway.

So I was off to remove the mower and throw on the box scraper so that I could dig up all that grass that managed to survive the winter and grow in our solid clay/concrete soil. She came home to a mountain of dirt in front of the house and back to no grass in the yard once again.

Here are a couple of pics of the start of the walkway and some progression. I have now comleted it and I have just a little more to finish up front like planting more "stuff" and mulch and some flagstone to get me over to the hose area. But here are some progression pics and I will post more when I can. But for my first paver job it was relatively easy.

Yeah he is a rescue that is just about the best dog in the world. Just don't ask me what he is though you're guess would be as good as mine on that one.

You do good work! But if you hadn't made the curb so crooked you would not have to cut all those pie shaped pieces.

Just following orders brothers hahaha. Trust me though the patio that I just started out back is not going to be all wavy. That is the last time I do one of those. I started out with a wet masonry saw that broke. So I ran to out to rent one and they were all checked out for over a week. I ended up purchasing a diamond masonry blade for the skil saw and went to work...ended up looking like a ghost by the time I cut all of those.

1. German Shephard Dog, I've owned 2 GSDs and that dog is the spittin' image of my Elsie in her younger years. Sorry to say that I lost her last year after 12 years of companionship.

2. How about posting a couple of pics, if he is a GSD or even a GSD mix he'll prove to be highly intelligent, eager to please and very protective of you and your family.

Oh, and by the way, you do nice work. When you finish your stone work my wife has a project for you
