Honda TRX450ES starting issue

Hello. I have a 1998 TRX450ES with a starting/electrical problem. Battery fully charged, turn the key, hear a "clunk", push the starter button, no response. Pull starting works, the display comes on, the electric shifting works, lights work, but the clock and odometer reset each time the key is turned off. As best I can tell, all of the fuses are fine. I found the service manual through this forum (Thanks!) but it's mostly Greek to me (me lawyer, not ATV mechanic). The troubleshooting flow chart there seems to indicate the problem is the Starter Relay Switch. My question: is the Starter Relay Switch difficult to change? The part doesn't seem to be very expensive; could it really be that simple? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you!

It could be as simple as a bad ground or loose positive cable. I'd start there and make sure everything is clean and tight.

It's easy to verify if the relay is working or not. One lug will have constant 12v, the other side should have 12v only when you press the starter button.
