Honda Fourtrax 300 keeps dying

I'm at my wits end with my four wheeler. I had an idling problem where it would idle and gradually slow down until it cut off, didn't matter if it was warm or cold. Fixed all that....I think. Now I was riding it and within 5 mins it started acting like it wasn't getting any fuel and died on me. I was running wide open too. Then it would turn over fine but wouldn't start at all, so I let it sit for 30 mins. Started and then did the same thing not long after. It's not the gas or the carb cause the carb is brand spa king new, it's not the tank cause it's been cleaned out. I'm thinking it's an electrical problem somewhere (cdi box perhaps). When trying to start it, you don't smell any gas so it's not flooding. Anyone fought electrical problems with their 300 before?

I have a 2007 Honda 500 which developed similar symptoms. I replaced the battery and that fixed all the problems. I think the battery was faulty.

You could be right but my battery is maybe three months old. I did check the connections and the battery to make sure and all checked out.

Just had a similar problem fixed by replacing the fuel line. It had turned to mush due to age and ethanol gas -- or so I've heard. Also installed a filter in the fuel line to keep dissolved rubber bits from reaching the carb.

Also had a problem with the choke cable so that might be something else to check.
