Check the chain and sprockets my atv made some racket when I would let out of the throttle and it was the chain slipping

There are a lot of Honda 300 ATVs, 2WD and 4x4, as well as sporty or
utility.

My ATV project is a 96 TRX300FW FourTrax 4x4 and it has full time 4WD.
This means that if anything is amiss in the front axles, front differential,
the 4 driveshafts, or rear final drive, you will get some bad noise. BTDT.

BTW, the sporty Honda 300 ATVs (e.g. TRX300EX) have chain drives, and
the utility 300 ATVs don't.

the noise cud be coming from one of the differentials either the front or rear. these give a bit of bother in these quads

Did you ever find out what was making the noise?
