Homemade Gutters for Rain Catchment ?

Could anyone point me to instructions on how to make gutters from scratch from sheet metal stock ? (NOTE: not how to install/cut etc. store bought ones) ? I just got a super deal on an 8 foot sheet metal brake for $100 and want to try my hand at it.
Thanks for any pointers to instructions.

This site has some good views of gutter profiles to give you some ideas of the bends you'll need to make. I think most gutters are roll-formed now, to make seamless, but no reason you can't bend short sections with the brake.

Thanks Rus, very helpful. Sure wish there was a book on sheet metal fabbing that covered gutters. I've got a few but they're on auto body work...

I'm sure there is some info out there.

Sheet metal work has always interested me, what they can do from scratch.

I had some copper ridge cap made once, the very top was rounded by a series of bends and the side flared out with a final bend on each end. it came out nice.

I agree 8 foot gutters are going to require many joints but I'm sure it can be down.

I can't even get the factory made alcoa gutters anymore, it's all formed at the supply house off a coil. it comes out like crap with an arc in the middle. plus no longer has that return bend on the top back.

I have an old AUDEL's sheetmetal book at home that probably covers it, I will check when I get home. I think it is the same as this one I found on ebay:
