I'd like to make a homemade boom out of PVC for my 25 gallon FIMCO sprayer. 12' would be nice but I'm not sure if it has enough pressure for that. Has anyone tried this or better yet, have some plans for this? Thanks.

Search Ebay for "Fold Out Sprayer Boom for ATV" as this might give you some idea's for a plan and what the requirements are as far as type of pump.

yes sir, I did it with a 15 gal sprayer.
It's not the pressure of the pump, it's the spray tips you use, check the pump output and match the spray tips to that.

I started out with a 6' bar for my lawnmower and I think 5 tips.
drilled and tapped the pvc for the same size as the plastic tips I bought and screwed them in.
Cut it in half, put in a tee with a hose adapter and went at it.

I really didn't like the spray pattern i was getting, without being able to raise and lower the boom you're limited to the coverage that you have.
I changed to a piece of angle iron, about the same width of my mower, with only 3 angled spray tips that broadcast more (forget what they were called) and got the same width of spray with better coverage.

Since then I've built a 14' boom with a 65 gal tank and a pto pump for my tractor so my mower only mows.:)

I thought about doing the same thing for my 15gal Fimco. After looking at tips at Tractor Supply, and not having a clue about what tip to use, I have about decided to just buy this from Agri Supply:

This is a good tip:

XR TeeJetョ Extended Range Flat Spray Nozzles

The tip mounts to a nozzle body using a cap:

Individual Spray Nozzle Bodies

If you plan on spraying 24d you should be careful with drift, which is best prevented by spraying at low pressure, < 30 psi. I spray at 20 psi. You can install a pressure gauge and a bypass (just a ball or needle valve) valve at the pump outlet. Run the hose from the bypass valve back into the tank. This drains the excess pressure back to the tank and allows a crude (cheap) pressure control. The pump runs continuous, but the spray will have steady pressure and pattern.

Consider using 1" square steel tubing as a boom and 3/8 hose connected to spray fittings. The nozzle bodies have filters and a no-drip feature so the tip does not drip the contents of the boom when you turn off the power. Cap hold the tip with 1/4 turn so you can change tips in seconds.

Spraying Systems Inc. is the leader in ag spray tips and has an excellent paper catalog. In less than an hour of reading you will find out how to do your system right, better than a cheap store bought rig. The TeeJet web site is akward. A paper catalog is much easier to use. They would be better off having a duplicate of the paper catalog in pdf format you could download and scroll thru.

I think it should be fine. I have made two of them, both with 2 nozzles and 6'spray patterns to minimize over spray when working on trails, around buildings, etc. You will likely need 5 nozzles to get 12' Those pumps are on-demand, only run when valve is open, so you will need a 1/4 turn ball valve to turn it on off. That way you can have it plugged in when you leave the yard and just open and close the valve at the start and end of each pass. I also put a tee in the line and kept the wand for spot spraying.
1" light tubing works, so does 1 1/2" x 1/8" thk angle. I used the frame from a BBQ grill for one and angle from a bed frame for the other. nozzles are from agri-supply.com
