Hey everyone, I new to this forum and saw alot of good info around here. One thing I am wondering is, has anyone built a 3pt for an M tractor or something that would work. All I have it the standard swinging drawbar on there. Since it is a 1950 they didn't have 3pt. My only choice is after market one but they are $700-900. Even if I had some diagrams I could weld up some but have found nothing thus far. Thanks for any and all help.

I built a 3PH for my farmall C, I used the touch control, but it was to fast and jerky. I had the aux valve on it si I dropped the touch control linkage and used a 2" X 10" hydraulic cyl that I had laying around. It works great now. I didn't have any plans but I have done this kind of stuff all my life so it wasn't any problem. Just make sure that the lift arms are wide enough apart and that the top link is about the right distance up from the lower arm anchors and use a 3'X 8" cyl. that is a common size for most old tractors.
I post some pics of it HTH, later, Nat
PS, after I did away with the linkage to the touch control I made a sadle clamp to go around the axle to hold the anchor end of the cyl and welded an ear under the barss that go back to raise the lift arms. I'll take some pics of that if you want me to.

I would buy the lower lift arms at TSC or a tractor salvage yard. They are heat treated. I have made several 3 point hitches for old farm tractors and learned the hard way. I used 3/4" x 4" mild steel for lift arms on a tractor and while using a rear blade one of the arms bend like butter into an "S" shape! Since then I have bought my lower lift arms for the strength.

HI Mark,

I recently added an aftermarket hitch to my M. Purchased it new from a fabrication shop (online) for $400 plus shipping. Very stout, well designed, and allows you to keep the swinging drawbar intact. Drop me a line for more pictures or more info about the company.

Sent you a message Dan, I'd be kinda interested in more info on a $400 M 3ph. Thanks,

You may have already looked at these, but I thought I would post it, in case you did not. This is the one most people I know recommend if looking to purchase one.

Good Luck,
Russ
