This greatly reduces the amount of dust getting into the air filter, which can be extreme.. I removed the intake portion from behind the cab, part before the actual air filter then used the hose to connect to a 90 degree pvc elbow which connected to a thin wall pipe to run up to just below the roof, then I connected a pvc drain p trap to point it down (do not want water getting in when it rains, so pointed down plus under the roof keeps it out) On the side of the straight metal pipe I welded a tab to connect to one of the existing bolts for support and I used a couple of zip ties on the pipe to help support it,, total cost 0.00 as I just used junk I had laying around the shop... Kubota does make a kit as well called a High mount air filter cost around 200.00. The Mack Bull Dog was added to the hood because the RTV reminds me of an old Mack truck I saw one time,,,,,,,,,,,, The tail gate net on the right side is because my Labrador has a tendency jump out some times when we are driving so I try to protect him because he does let me use his RTV.
NOTE: This is not for fording water it is to reduce the amount of dust intake to the air filter. Because Kubota p;aced the air intake in the dustiest place they could find, they want to sell lots of air filters I think....

Good job, it'll work dandy...and, yes, I recommend such a high rise air intake. Else, a huge amount of dust can be drawn into the air filter area because the intake is in the dust trail from the wheels. It's about the same size as the one from Kubota...should not be restrictive.

It does work great and since it is the same diameter as the factory snorkel it does not restrict the air flow.. I have had it on for over a year and had no problems. Cut cleaning the air filter almost weekly to about every other month even then the air filter is not that dirty,, I forgot to mention the riser pipe has to be bent very little to go up between the cab and bed. Not worth the 200.00 price tag from the Orange factory...
