home made quick hitch

after waiting for months for a quick hitch finally decided to make my own.My cousin has a kubota bx1800 with a quick hitch so took a bunch of pictures and measurements so that mine would be compatiable with other attachments.looked at pictures on the net as well as mine is a massey gc2300 so with pictures and measurements of the bx1800 here's what mine looks like completed.

Looks well made, but not sure what it's for? Front mount snow blower?

yes thats what its going to be used for this winter to drive the snowblower.It will be used next summer to run the stump grinder as well.I have a blade that I may make fit it as well but because I have the front end loader I really don't need to use the blade.

That looks great! Very professionally done. Have you estimated how much you have into the finished product and compared it to what a MF factory version was going to cost? I know you can't really figure in labor.....just curious. Well done in the meantime.

I was curious as well as to what my cost was to build it so I kept track of everything of course minus the labour and it came to $850 cdn.Thats including the shaft to the snowblower as well as the shaft from under the tractor to the quick hitch.I was given a price of $1800 back in June and had actually told them to order it for me and I even checked back and few times to ask when it was comming in and was always told in a couple of weeks.So with the snow almost here I decided to build my own as this was I'd be able to use my blower come snow time.The only thing done different is that I made a couple of tabs stick out on each side and I'll put in a couple bolts to hold the blower onto the quickhitch but next spring summer I'll see if I can maybe make it to lock on like all the other ones.But It'll work fine for me this way.As always Larry.

I put my blower (BX2750) on the mount, lock it in, and it doesn't come off until Spring. I don't have any other implements for the front quick hitch, so the tabs would work fine for me. I can't tell from the pictures, but the top of the hydraulic ram looks like there is some ability to adjust it's position? $850.00 versus $1800.00 makes it look even better! John

the ram stays where it is but it's a 6" stroke so lots of up and down movement.I've put grease fitting in the swivel pin area so it can be greased . I'am a big believer of greasing any pivot point as grease is cheap compared to parts.As alway Larry.

Any chance you have a good diagram with measurements where the nose of it is tapered? I've been wanting to make just the nosepiece on a skidsteer plate so i can move my blower around with the loader in spring/fall when making my switchover from loader to blower & vise-versa.

I don't have any drawings etc to go by I just had pictures and some notes about measurements etc' If you have the blower attached to your tractor then if your're using a quick hitch on the tractor can't you take measurements from there.Also if the blower has the female adapter you should beable to get some sort of measurements from there as well.
