I didn't feel like spending $150+ on the factory versions and I had some things laying around to do this. Total cost to me was about $10 and some time figuring it out. Steel and connecting hardware is 'SuperStrut' normally used for hanging conduit and electrical components. I had all of that available from past projects. I added a piece of chain link fence toprail (also leftover) inside the cross channel for a bit of extra strength. The vertical piece connecting to the toplink is an adjustable lift arm that was the only piece I had to buy. If fit inside the channel the same as the fence rail and is attached with a through bolt so it can be adjusted further if necessary. I could have done something else with parts I had, but this seemed to work out well. The strut section out beyond the ball lets me attach things that use a drawbar type coupler.

The welds are ugly and temporary until I find out if I need to change anything. Eventually, I'll redo them, clean them up and paint it all.

I don't move large heavy trailers, only a few things like utility trailers and a log splitter around the yard.

I had a business repairing construction equipment for 16 years, most of it trailer type and I needed a way to move ball and loop tongues.
I could have to move over a dozen in a day!
I had an old Crapsman Tractor with a bad deck so I rigged up a HF winch so I could back up, grab and go.
The HF control handle quit and I found a relay on ebay that I controlled with push buttons.
I still have the tractor but I retired 3 years ago.
