I've had the L4400 for about a week and a half. Last night I got a chance to really look at the tractor closely while working on adding a tool box and counted 32 various stickers on it, not including the FEL which probably has a half dozen more. Seems like they should just put one big one on it saying read the manual and don't be stupid. I know... it's the Lawyers.

I wish my dad were around to comment on it. He worked in a steel mill, same one that put me through college, there was a saying there that "the guys without fingers were the slow learners."

I'm going to get the old man's tool box painted up and bolted on tonight, 24 years to the day after he passed away. Sure wish he was here to see it. RIP Dad.

If you read all of the stickers, you'll be afraid to start it:D

My dad passed 11 years ago at a young age and he was a genuine lover of power toys..Wish he could be here to see the stuff he never thought of...I sure do miss him...

I like the one on mine..Has the barrel falling out of the bucket onto the operator..Makes you wonder who did that one.

I must be a slow learner...8 3/4 fingers...At least I can count in fractions.:drink:

I always thought that was a round bale falling on the operator.

No offense intended Timswi or anybody else who has been injured. I know it can happen fast and in ways you never would have expected. Had a foreman try to take my finger off with a 800 lb. rolled steel bar hoisted on a strap. It swung around and smashed my finger against a lathe with the sharp end of the bar. I've always watched what the other guy can do to mess you up since then.

Just remembering growing up when men were men and there wasn't a sticker on everything. It's really remarkable parking the L4400 next to the 1948 8N and seeing the difference. Gotta say the 8N sure is pretty.

I do a lot of woodworking and have always asked guys who have lost fingers how they did it. Figured there is always something to learn from them.

I know now not to feed my fingers into a table saw..oh well..you adapt and move on. Only get so many try's though:D

No offense here dude...it's a badge of honor at this point. I work with a bunch of stuffed shirt types, they can't even comprehend how one could even be in a position to get hurt this bad. They pay people to cut their grass, if you get my drift.

I actually took off all but about two of those stickers because they didn't come off easily like the others.. And I still might take those other two off.

If you take a look at the picture of my B2320 in my thread about bringing it home, you should be able to notice that it looks a lot cleaner without the stickers.

A 4000 psi power washer will make those stickers fly. However, there are some stuck on with extra strong glue that won't budge.

Be careful with that goo remover stuff. It will eat the paint - especially on plastic panels. Don't ask how I know.

I had an uncle who was the best carpenter/cabinet maker/furniture builder/woodworker I ever knew. And he had all his fingers. But I remember him saying once, "That's because I'm still scared of power tools." Of course he owned'em all and used'em all. I guess what he really meant was that he never got over respecting them.

I love listening to all the disclaimers on medication, "May cause ----, don't use if ----". When I'm done listening to all that I think I'd be better off with the disease the medication is trying to prevent.
