Has anybody tried this particular coupler that's available at Harbor Freight. I've got a locknlube. I have rebuild it once and the thing hangs up where the lever attaches to the spring it's constantly giving me problems and it just doesn't work as smooth as it did when it was new. And I'm thinking of giving this Holt a try.

i don't know but thought it was funny that locknlube sends a rebuild kit with their new product.

I followed the L&L threads when it came out, and as soon as I read about that rebuild kit I knew I'd never buy one.

I had two of the knock-off couplers from Amazon and they both leaked after about a month. The rubber seal inside seemed to get soft. The two Lock-n-Lube couplers I got are still working great after about six months. I have one on my new Dewalt battery grease gun and love that thing. Greasing equipment is a pleasure now. :giggle:

My experience too, after 18 months or so.

Adjust your ordinary Coupler or go to a button head style.

My first LockNLube lasted three years. I go thru a tube- tube and a half every day I work.
Just updated to a new DeWalt 20v a few weeks ago and went with the LockNLube XL, it gets into track frames better.

On the spring back on the lock lever, try soaking it in carb cleaner and then blow it out. Sounds like it got dirt or sand in it.

I thought about getting the XL but I needed a couple adapters. I bought one of those kits that contain six or seven adapters. The one that slides on from the side is especially useful. And the kit comes with an extension for deep fittings. I got THIS ONE because each adapter has it's own coupler for the grease gun. You don't have to keep switching tips.

Never had one, don't need one. I use a quality Alemite adjustable coupler.
