I've read the threads where people constructed various things to haul light materials in bulk. For example, what is essentially a plywood box that sits on the loader. And I'm considering the same thing.

However I'd really prefer something off the shelf and robust, as opposed to a monstrosity of my welding skills. Does anybody have experience with things like this?
84-in High Capacity Skid Steer Bucket

Ideally I'd find something bigger and lighter. I want this for carrying leaves and mulch. A replacement for my use of tarps in moving leaves.

It's pretty heavy, and I can't decide if 35 cu feet is big or not. Sure, I know it's more than a cu yard, but I don't have a sense of how it compares volume wise to the tarps I use to haul leaves.
(Hack tip: use bungee cords in the gromits of your tarp, loop around your bucket hook, and you can haul off the filled tarp with the tractor).

Anyway, just curious as to your experiences, pointers to good buckets in this regard, etc. Also, would a 7' bucket like this be okay for my MX5400? Normally I use 6' attachments on the bucket. I'm not sure how destabilizing a 7' 756lb bucket full of leaves or mulch is going to be to move around the property.

A dump trailer is also being considered, but then I need a way to get material off the ground and into the trailer. Straightforward for mulch in a pile, not so much for leaf piles on the grass. I'm unlikely to scoop up leaves with the bucket. If I get a big materials bucket I would just rake the pile of leaves into it as if it were a tarp.

35 cu ft, not yards! :) A yard is 27 cu ft, for reference. Assuming you have the same bucket as i, its about 1/3rd yard. So, about 4x the volume of your existing. 750 lbs gives you about 1250lbs of payload left. I have no need for such, so no comment on whether it would work well for your method of work.

Oops, amended, I meant feet.

Yeah, my heavy duty bucket is probably something like 9 cubic feet. I exceed that volume just carting cat litter out to fill holes. Great for gravel, not so much for other things.
Sometimes the smaller buckets make it hard to find out how much cubic feet they hold (the manufacturers often don't give the capacity, and I don't know enough to calculate from some the weird bucket geometries).

Maybe I just need to fill a tarp with snow and then put it into a well dimensioned box and see how much that is. Obviously I'm hoping for a bucket that carries far more than the tarp, because the fewer trips across the lawn with my R4 tires, the better. Bonus points if I can use the leaf blower to fill the bucket.

those Tomahawk ones look nice and much lighter weight.

I have a 84in Tomahawk mulch bucket and love it. I use it for leaf pickup in fall and snow removal in winter. One of my favorites shy of the pallet forks. Nice price as well...
Tomahawk Attachments :: Tomahawk Snow/Mulch Buckets

Nice, lighter weight, lighter price. Seems to be 1/8 instead of 3/16 steel. I don't see specs for "struck capacity" vs "heaping capacity", or floor /back dimensions. Curious if you know where the specs are.
I'm also checking out these Landpride series (per my dealer): https://cdn-assets.greatplainsmfg.com/ari/attach/lp/public/specs/381-192sk.pdf Nice to see the bottom and height dimensions.
There's also this HLA: 219 HLA Attachments High Volume Front End Loader Bucket - REGULAR DUTY MBHV84 | S&H Farm Supply | Joplin, MO
Both of those are twice the price of the Tomahawk, though.

I can take measurements of mine later today if you wish
