Getting old. Sold the ranch. Sold the tractors. Moved back to the city.
I notice that many TBNers attach large images to their posts that take forever to download.

There's an easy way to avoid this nuisance for those using Windows XP. Go to the MS power toys website below

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

and download the Image Resizer (its free). Install it and it shows up in Windows Explorer when you right-click an image file (or several image files together) as the "Resize Pictures" option. As the name implies, IR will quickly reduce your 300KB+ size files to around 60-80K, which nearly always is sufficient for TBN.

Has anyone found a good resizer for Windows Vista. Been using Image resizer on my older machine but haven't been able to get it to work on my new laptop.

Try Irfanview:
IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide

I don't have Vista, but this one has worked on every Windows OS since Win 95 (that's how long I've been using it).
If it loads and runs on Vista, click on IMAGE, then RESIZE/RESAMPLE to change the picture size.
Irfanview has some other pretty neat features (batch processing for one)...let us know if it works on Vista.

Yeah photobucket is the way to go, it automatically scales any images you upload to it so no more huge pictures using their site!!!

Does "search" ring a bell, or did that fade into obscurity as did libraries with Google? Simple searches of image posting and 50 hour oil change would encompass loads of questions on TractorByNet.
Try "image resizer", and you'll get ----- lots. PowerToys, Photobucket, Pixresizer, Picasa and many other options are available.
As to Microsoft PowerToys and Vista, they aren't yet compatible (well, actually they are, with modifications). Vista had loads of compatibility issues, but many have been resolved. Wait for "Service Pack I", because by then most/all current 3rd party software companies will have patches on their web sites, but more conveniently Microsoft will include a preponderance of such in the service pack. Could you work out the Vista compatibility issues, given reasonable savvy, yup, but why bother - just wait for the first service pack.
Have a good weekend.

Thanks a bunch!

I been rasslin' with my computer, tryin' to get a picture resized for my avatar.

Apparently the time ran out on all those freebie photoshop deals that came on my PC when it was new.

Behold my latest project.
