How are the new series working? My biggest concern or area of interest is the DPF. Any problems? I am considering trading my 1652 in toward a 1759 cab. I do a lot of idling sometimes and am concerned it's going to cause the DPF to clog prematurely. Any info would be great!

Figure out a way to not idle so much or will be in regen mode more often.

I've had my 1749 now for about a month and have 20 hrs on it. I am completely satisfied with mine. No smell, no smoke what so ever. It hasn't regenerated yet, in fact it's only on level 2 of the soot gauge. It has a 3 cyl compared to a 4cyl on the 1759, I don't know if that will make a difference or not.

Idling is part of the job, I can't change that.

My 1736 regen'd for the first time last weekend at 54 hours. I was able to keep moving bales while it regen'd so didn't interrupt what I was doing. When I'm picking rocks I leave mine idle for quite a while. I hate to always shut it off then start it up all the time. If it can't handle it then it's a pretty sorry piece of equipment. I like the fact that I can start it up in my shop and not be blasted out by a big cloud of black smoke.

Diesels dont like to idle for long periods, thats why heavy duty systems have regen systems built in. As I know it, if yours is doing this at lomg idle periods it could be because it getting cold during the idle process and duel is not burning. I wonder if covering vents might help keep it at the right temperature while idling? Diesels love to work :)

Mine just did it for the first time last week at 48 hrs. Whatever it did it did period. No engine revving like I used to see Semi tractor trailers do no nothing. It came and went with virtually no effect whatsoever and only seemed to last a few minutes.
