You need to look for a wire hanging loose and touching ground after being snagged, or the seat switch could be shorted to ground. If you really want good help beyond pure Easter Egging, please tell us the fuse number and what your operator's manual says it powers.
Unfortunately, the fuses in my manual aren't like the ones under my hood. I have (2) 10 amp fuses and (1) 15 amp fuse. The hazard lights work, but nothing else does, and the tractor doesn't make a sound. It's a 2003, and it's never done this before.
I just went out and looked at the tractor again. If I stand on the right side of the tractor and look toward the firewall, there are 3 fuses in the block; a 15 amp on the left, a 10 amp in the middle, and another 10 amp on the right. The one on the right is blowing. My tractor is a TC 30 V4. I see that the switch under the seat that is supposed to shut the tractor off if no one is on it has been bypassed. I have to assume my husband did that when he was alive. I've been driving the tractor for 3 1/2 years and it hasn't been a problem. It will start with nobody in the seat, and as long as everything is in neutral I can get off and leave it running, even with the PTO engaged.
To continue; the manual shows a 5 amp fuse in this position, which it says powers the Fuel solenoid, safety start circuit, instrument panel gauges and indicator lights, alternator. I'm sorry I sound so addled; I'm a 69-year-old widow with virtually no mechanical training except what I've taught myself since my husband died. I was a Librarian, not a farmer!

Msknot, I'm putting a link to your other thread were you found your problem so people won't keep posting here. I'm thrilled you and your relative were able to locate the problem. I suspect your husband added a 10 amp fuse instead of the 5 amp because fuse blowing is common in this circuit.
