I am in the market for a new ZTR this year. I have three dealers within 25 miles of me. The choices are Toro, Hustler and Deere. Due to the amount of grass, I want to go with a commercial mower. I am looking at the following

Toro Z Master 2000 w/ 60" deck
Hustler X One I w/ 60" deck
I haven't really checked out Deere yet as I don't see many of the commercial folks using them around here.

Of the two listed (Toro vs Hustler), what are the advantages of each? Price is about the same. I like the fact that Hustler is made in USA, but I like the looks of the Toro a little better.

Some of what I cut is a little on the bumpy side (using it around the farm).

Please offer your suggestions or thoughts on these mowers. Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with the Deere or Toro zero turns. I'm sure they are good machines also.
But I have owned a couple Hustlers and have been impressed with the build quality of those.
We had a Hustler FasTrak 54" for 4 or 5 years. It was a really nice, well built machine.
Sold the FasTrac to upsize to a Hustler Super Z 72" last year. The Super Z is a well built mowing machine.
It will mow our 7 acre lawn in around 2 hours
I'm hoping the Super Z will be the last mower I need to buy.

I looked the X one over when I was buying last year. It looked to be a nice, well made unit.
I don't think you can go wrong with most any of the commercial grade Z's available today.

I have a Scag Turf Tiger 60" water cooled ztr that has served me well. Super good mower. I also have a 54" Dyna Mow ztr that is as tough as they come.

You didn't mention a Simplicity or Ferris dealer but that is the mower I would be looking at for the bumpy ride stuff. I bought a Ferris last year just for that reason and believe me it really smooths out the bumps. Top speed is a fast 9.8 MPH, although I rarely mow that fast, and it is available with a commercial grade Kawasaki engine. I got the IS700Z with 52" deck and FS 690(light commercial grade) Kawasaki engine (heavy commercial grade FX version can also be ordered) and I can mow my 6 acres in 2.5-3 hours and I have lots and lots of trees and bushes to mow around. Check them out and you will be surprised at the smooth ride, quality of build etc.

I looked at a Deere Z915B this morning and a Z930M. They look like really well built machines. Now I am more confused..... Any thoughts on those?

It is never easy to decide these things. What I did before buying my Bad Boy was consider --- (1) dealer support - close by, good people, knowledgeable, oick-up/delivery, warranty (2) ease of self maintenance - oil changes, blade/under deck access, grease, (3) test mow on my land as to speed and comfort.

If you at least do those things I think it will help you decide.

Good luck.

Go with a Hustler!! Made in the great state of Kansas!! I am sure all the brands listed are great mowers. A few weeks ago I purchased a Hustler Raptor SD. It is a residential model and I will only be cutting around two acres with it.

I don't know if any of the machines you mentioned have suspensions.

I have a Ferris that is about 10yrs. old w/ a rigid frame. A friend has a very similar machine that is a few years newer and has independent suspension.
The difference in ride is night and day. If I ever look to replace my mower I won't even consider another rigid frame.

I mow 5 acres. I bought a 930M last year with the upgraded seat, EFI and the mulch on demand deck. Very soild machine and and nice cut. I have some very thick clover by my pond and the machine would bog down. The cup holder is also terrible:) I am looking to trade it in this year on an Exmark Lazer Z with the new RED technology that is twice as efficent on fuel. The exmark is also the best cut on the market with the best warranty if you are willing to spend the $14000.00
