I'm attempting to replace the tractormeter on a MF65 diesel; AD4-203, with the drive connector situated on the upper rear cylinder block. The original cable seems to have sheared off at the drive end, leaving the square key and a few threads of the cable stuck in the drive connector.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove the drive connector? I can easily remove the housing but the stuck key won't budge and I'm not sure how to remove the drive connector. It does seem to turn when the engine runs but could it be seized on it's shaft? It's a difficult location to work on and I've been hesitant to use any more than gentle persuasion so far. Any tricks or suggestions or experience with this disassembly??
Thanks a bunch.
