Hello All,
I recently purchase a very well maintained Kubota B6000 4x4 with a factory FEL and a Case Hydraulic Tiller attachment. Last week, I purchased a new small 3pt hitch on Ebay as hand splitting is not an option any longer. I have a few questions....

Does anyone now the pump size of the factory loader for the B6000?

I have been tilling with this little tank of a tractor and it is an extremely powerful tiller, even at half throttle!

The original owner installed a hydraulic valve on the rear fender (see attached) to operate the Case hydraulic tiller in both forward and reverse motions. Well I installed the splitter today using two quick-connect valves and engage the fender hydraulic valve in the forward position and my splitter operates, back and forth, but with very little force and will not kick into neutral. Nor does it have even enough force to split a small 14" long pine log. I reversed the splitter lines and re-connected them to the fender (tiller) valve but I am still having the same problemo!!!

Any suggestions????

The most GPM you could have with 13 HP, is 7.5 GPM, so your pump is probably pumping less than that.

Even so, if you have 5 GPM at 2500 psi, you should be able to operate the splitter.

Now the size of the splitter and GPM provided will determine the speed of operation. The pressure will determine the force.

The operating pressure might be in the low range like 1500 psi.

Can't find any data on the tractor max pressure.

If you have the manual, the pressure rating should be in there.

Make sure the tractor is not running when you disconnect the QD on that fender valve.

Thanks! Below are the specs on the splitter. What I don't understand is the tiller operates like a charm, but just can't get the force and speed on the splitter?????

Specs: If you have a tractor that has a smaller hydraulic pump (less than 7 gpm) our 12 ton splitter will work great with your tractor giving you a cycle time of about 12 seconds. This splitter is still capable of splitting large logs, but will reduce your cycle time on your splitter tremendously.

Key Benefits

12 tons of Ram Force

Maximum log length capability 20"

Control valve locks into the return position and automatically returns to start position after log has been split

I believe the pressure on the B6000 is about 1200 psi.

Check your manual to verify.

As far as kick back on return, you may not be developing enough pressure to operate the log splitter release pressure , which are adjustable. The retract is detent with hyd kick out. Kick out Pressure could be anywhere from 750 to 2000 psi.

You will need a hyd gage to reset.

Here is an Energy log splitter valve with all the details.

The data I have say the B6000 has a pump of 2.8 GPM, allowable down to 2.4 GPM, at 1200 PSI.

You may be correct as I have not seen any printed material.

If he is using 2.8 GPM and 1200 psi into a 20 in cyl, 3 in bore, and 1.5 in rod, the push force will be around 8482 lbs, and the time to extend about 13.3 sec. Retract time about 10 sec.

I would call that a 4 ton splitter.

Found some info in the manual, the loader pump is rated at 6 GPM at 2700 RPM. So I guess I will need to adjust the splitter valve??? Thanks for all help guys!

You need to see what the loader valve is rated for.

Steering sometimes takes some of the pump fluid.

JJ, Thanks, will do, but this tractor does not have power steering.

Does your tractor have a belt-driven pump off the crankshaft? That's the way mine is set up, and, while I don't have any literature, and my pump isn't marked, my pump isn't putting out 6 GPM. Even at rated RPM it's nowhere near that.

That wouldn't mean you don't need to adjust the valve, simply that you may not have that much volume. Can you scan, or take pictures, of the loader information?
